arts and design exhibition-600-297As an international University in Thailand, Asian U provides exposure to a unique cultural and ethnic diversity with the potential to develop strong cross-cultural understanding among students. Students educated in such an environment develop a strong tolerance and understanding of other people and viewpoints, and are subject to a broad range of experiences. Hopefully, the high academic standard and the English language proficiency required by Asian U give students the “push” they need to develop their full potential.

But life at Asian U is not all about work – undergraduates spend about 20-25 hours a week attending lectures and perhaps another 5 hours completing assignments and case studies, the rest of the time and how they spend it is up to them. As most of the students and many academics live in the University dormitory, the university does provide sessions for students with special needs both during and after office hours. Parents can also keep in close contact with Asian U staff and can request reports on the students’ academic performance, class attendance and social behavior.

The quality of life in the dormitory, overall, is good. Nestled in a tranquil environment, the accommodation area has WiFi coverage, a restaurant and a small ‘Family Mart’ type convenient store ensures that late night snacks whilst students catch up with friends and family on their mobile devices is an enjoyable experience. Each double occupancy room has recently been refurbished and modelled on the international Ibis hotel philosophy of being clean and efficient with modern décor and stylish colours. All have new modern air conditioning systems along with internet connections, a computer docking station and individual work desks etc and of course, all rooms have their own separate bathroom. Students rely on Asian U to find them a suitable room-mate. Living with other people who are going through the same experiences makes a positive contribution to students’ growth and character development.
